Xopunor Deuka bringing inspiring stories to schools of Assam

GUWAHATI: London-based Rituraj Sharma handed over 'Xopunor Deuka' (When Dreams Get Wings), a series of 13 stories from Assam, and five from the rest of India to the Department of Education of Assam at a formal event held at the State Mission Office, Samagra Shiksha Assam, Kahilipara, on Tuesday. These stories will now be included in the curriculum of Samagra Shiksha, Assam.

Rituraj Sharma said that "these stories will reveal that students who obtained lower marks during their academics are from urban, rural, or remote rural India, and most importantly, they may have studied in local medium schools and colleges, but they can still go abroad to pursue their higher studies and obtain a fully funded scholarship in the United Kingdom (UK)."

"This is a big day for 'XopunorDeuka' and the idea behind it, the support it enthused, and the good wishes it garnered from well-wishers and audiences across Assam and beyond. The inspiring stories of Xopunor Deuka will now reach 2500 and more schools in rural Assam that are connected through satellite and will be showcased as a special programme to inspire the high school students," he added.

Xopunor Deuka contained inspiring stories of Assamese and rest of India students being recorded under the banner of (Xopunor Deuka, Sapno Ke Pankh, and When Dreams Get Wings.) These are the true stories of Assamese and Indian students who aspired for higher studies in world-renowned educational institutions in the UK. These students have dreamed big, demonstrated tremendous grit and determination, worked consistently and persistently towards their dreams, and finally achieved what they had set out for. They are achievers in the truest sense, and they have achieved against all odds and despite their difficult backgrounds.

Each episode of Xopunor Deuka, Sapno Ke Pankh, and When Dreams Get Wings will tell an untold story that will provide great insights to young students, parents, and teachers. It will showcase that in today's world, career options are manifold and students can choose what they love to do, not what they are supposed to do.

The event was attended by Education Advisor, Dr. Nani Gopal Mahanta, Executive Director, SSA, Sanjay Dutta, and others.
