Guwahati: The Nagarbera police arrested one Akkas Ali on Friday for allegedly raping a woman at Jamlai village in the Nagarbera area in the Kamrup district on Monday last.
The victim woman alleged that the accused had entered her residence when no one was there. He dragged her into a bush by pressing her mouth with his hands and raped her.
The victim woman complained to Nagarbera Police Station.
Akkas Ali, a married man, fled soon after the woman lodged the FIR.
However, Nagarbera Police nabbed him today.
The police produced Ali before the court that sent him to judicial custody.
