GUWAHATI: The syllabus for the Assam Direct Recruitment is vast and will comprise of various topics including General Knowledge, Ahom Dynasty, exclusive Assam history, general awareness, reasoning, English language, quantitative aptitude.
The General knowledge syllabus include new inventions, current national news, International issues, National and International current affairs, History of India, Tourism spots of Historical Importance, Geography of India, World organizations, Famous Places in India, National Dance, Science and innovations, Political Science, India and neighboring countries, Indian Culture, Music & Literature and Handicrafts.
The questions will be in the MCQ format and will have a total of 120 questions with negative markings for wrong attempts.
As far as the General English syllabus is concerned, it will include Idioms And Phrases, Active And Passive Voice Rules, Rules and List of Conjunctions, Cloze Test, List of One Word Substitutions, Sentence Correction Questions, Letter Writing Format, Precise Writing, Reading Comprehension, Spotting the Error, Rules For Tenses, List of Prepositions, List of Synonyms and Antonyms, Rules For Prepositions, List of Homophones/Homonyms.
The candidates in-depth knowledge about Assam will also be tested. Students will have to be well-versed with the early civilizations that existed in this land and will have to identify the major river systems. They will also have to know how the physical environment supported the development of civilization.
As far as mathematics is concerned, the syllabus includes Time & Speed, Percentages, Ratios and Proportions, Arithmetic Aptitude, Probability, Averages, Number Series, Data Interpretation, Profit and Loss, Inequalities.
The Computer science syllabus will include MS Excel, MS Word, MS Powerpoint, MS – Windows, Basics of Hardware, Introduction to Windows, Input and Output Devices, Computer System and Concept of Memory.
The reasoning syllabus will include Logical Deduction, Matching Definitions, Analyzing Arguments, Verbal Classification, Cause and Effect, Making Judgments, Verbal Reasoning, Logical Problems and Statement and Assumption.
General Science Syllabus will contain questions from the following topics: center of mass, the system of particles, and the periodic table.
