Assam Polls 2021: A Class IV Pass, Eight Class V Pass Candidates in Fray in Phase 2

The over 73 lakh (73,44,631) Assam voters will choose from 345 candidates. Some of them are Doctors, some are MSc in Mathematics and MA in Political Science and other subjects

Guwahati: From just Class IV (4) pass to Ph D doctorate, this is how varied the range is, as far as the educational qualification of the candidates in Phase 2 of Assam Assembly elections 2021 is concerned.

Abdul Hasib, contesting as an Independent candidate from Badarpur constituency is just Class IV (4) pass from Dakshin Basla L.P school. He is a 1992 batch. This is information is as per his declaration made in the affidavit filed with the Election Commission of India.

According to the Association of Democratic Reforms (ADR) report, there are eight (8) Class V (five) pass candidates in the fray in Phase 2 of Assam Assembly elections 2021.

KshirodeKarmakar, contesting as an Independent candidate from Lakhipur constituency is a Class VIII (8) pass candidate.

He is among the 51 Class VIII pass candidates contesting this time.

Ram Ratan Dusad contesting on an AJP ticket from Dholai constituency is under Matric pass from Night Higher Secondary school.

Ananta Mohan Roy contesting from Dholai constituency as an Independent candidate is Class X (Matric) pass from Bontarapur High school in the year 1975. He is among the 80 Class X (Matric) pass candidates contesting in Phase of Assam Polls 2021.

Former Asom Sahitya Sabha President Paramananda Rajbongshi, who is contesting on a BJP ticket from Sipajhar, is a Phd from Gauhati University, 1994 batch.

There are 70 candidates who are Class 12 or Higher Secondary pass, 77 Graduates, 36 Post Graduates, 17 candidates who are Graduate Professionals and one candidate who has a PhD (Doctorate) degree, according to the ADR report.

There are candidates like Dr Bhagaban Dev Misra contesting from Rangia on a CPI (M) ticket who is a practicing Doctor who is in the battle this time. He is among the few Doctors who are in the fray.
