Guwahati, Sept 14: Lashing out at the former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, the State BJP spokesperson Rupam Goswami stated that targeting the Sonowal–led government is an act of clever tactics used to veil the failure of the Congress government in all fronts.

“All allegations leveled against the functioning of the ruling government is totally baseless and without any sound grounds,” said the State spokesperson of the BJP.

He further added that during the 15 years of the Congress regime, the party neither took into consideration the perennial flood problem of Assam nor initiated any steps for research to solve it.

“On the other hand, the BJP government under the leadership of Prime Minister rendra Modi has taken all possible steps to mitigate and find an enduring solution to flood mece. For the same, the Central government has also sanctioned a fund of Rs 100 crore to carry out research work on the Brahmaputra river and its tributaries,” he added.

Moreover, the BJP government has not deterred from its promise of zero tolerance on corruption because of which some corrupt officials are behind bars, he added.

He said, “The NRC process is expediting because of this government. Moreover, due to the eviction drive carried out in Kaziranga tiol Park and Batardrava Xatra around 130 bighas land have been freed from the clutches of encroachers. ”  He said the Congress is misleading the people of Assam by projecting a different picture of the ruling government.
