Guwahati: 1 Dead, 3 Injured in Road Accident at Kamakhya Gate

GUWAHATI: In a shocking incident, a collision near Guwahati's Kamakhya Gate was reported wherein a Ford Endeavour rammed into an Alto vehicle and a bullet bike, injuring three people and killing one.

The tragedy occurred after a speeding Ford Endeavour collided with an Alto and a standing bike, according to eyewitnesses. One of the injured was sitting on a parked bike when one of the vehicles involved in the collision mowed him down. Two other people were said to be in the moving Alto.

Prashanta Saxena, a resident of Noonmati, was killed, while Jyotirmoy Kumar Das, Munomu Talukdar, and Dipankar Das were injured.

The injured were taken to the GMCH, where one was pronounced dead, according to sources.

Following the event, a tense situation developed in the vicinity as a traffic policeman was allegedly assaulted by some youngsters.

According to reports, the traffic policeman was interrupted as a group of youths approached the vehicle's driver to assault him.

The event has been confirmed by the Jalukbari Traffic Police, and an inquiry is ongoing. Meanwhile, the driver of the Endeavour vehicle has been apprehended.
