About CKB Commerce College:

Established in 1965, Chandra Kamal Bezbaruah Commerce College, one of the premier institutions imparting Commerce Education in the N.E. Region, is situated in the heart of Jorhat Town. The college has been assessed and accredited with 'B+' grade by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in the year 2016. In an industrially backward region this full fledged Commerce College was started with the vision of producing a good number of able commerce graduates to promote entrepreneurial activities and to shoulder various responsibilities in Trade, Industry and Commerce and also to provide them with the opportunity to build up their professional careers as Chartered Accountants, Cost Accountants, M.B.A. etc. The college makes it a point to remember the remarkable sacrifices of a few enthusiastic founder teachers who took all pains to translate the dream of the college into reality. Commerce education gradually flourished in the vicinity and neighbourhood under the leadership and able guidance of founder principal Madhab Chandra Chakrabarty as well as the sincere devotion of founder teachers Shri Dwijendra Nath Sarmah, Shri Anil Chandra Sarmah and Shri Khagendra Nath Sarmah Baruah. In 1974, the college was brought under the Deficit G.I.A. system and the same year it was recognised by University Grants Commission. The College was provincialised by the Government of Assam in the year 2005. The college started with only 130 students. Till today, the college has produced more than ten thousand graduates and most of them are well placed in society. Presently about 1000 students are studying in the college. Moreover, the college has a dedicated teaching staff with 27 members. The college also has a rich library with more than 23000 books in addition to journals, magazines and newspapers.

At present, the college offers Honours and Non-Honours Courses for B.Com. students. Considering the need of job-oriented courses for students, the college introduced BBA Course under Dibrugarh Universityin 2006. The college is also an approved CMA (Certified Management Accountant) Study cum Support Centre of ICMAI (Institute Of Cost and Management Accountants of India). The college is also an IGNOU Study Centre since 1999. The institution also provides various facilities for sports such as Muaythai, besides offering scope for other extra-curricular activities. With the gaining popularity of Commerce Education, the college is trying its best to fulfill the needs and aspirations of the younger generation of the region.

• Fulfillment of Educational qualifications as per Govt. Office Memorandum No. AHE. 239/ 2021/ 68 dated 24/01/2022 with NET/SLET/SET. Selection procedure will be as per Govt. Office Memorandum issued vide No. ASE.626/2021/3 dated 15/12/2021.
• The candidates have to acquire qualification as on the last date of submitting applications. Eligibility like M.Phil/Ph.D/Seminar Papers/Publications can be acquired and submitted on date of interview and not beyond.
