Kokrajhar: Bodoland People's Front (BPF) general secretary Prabin Boro in a press meet held on Monday at Kokrajhar raised several issues related to forming the government in Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).

Addressing the media Boro said, "the democracy is being killed in Bodoland Territorial Area Districts(BTAD). BPF is the only single largest party that won the majority with 7 seats in the Bodoland Territorian Council (BTC)elections. We should have had the opportunity to form government in BTC but the governor denied to accept their application request to form government in BTC." We will show our strength if needed, Boro added.

He further claimed that Bodoland People's Front and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) still have an alliance but they were not invited by the saffron party for a talk instead Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) president Promod Boro as the new Chief Executive Member of BTR.

Marking the alliance between BPF and BJP Boro said, "Its last-ditch effort to preserve the friendship, otherwise, we will decide."He also stated that there was a wrong rumor spreading that members of BPF are going to join the BJP-UPPL coalition.

On the other hand, former BTC chief Hagrama Mahilary said, "all political parties, including BJP, and UPPL filed candidates independently, but the point is that BPF is in the government in Dispur with the BJP, so I am repeatedly telling that both the Centre and state should help us in the formation of the government." However, the BJP ignored the plea of Mahilary.

States Finance Minister and BJP mascot Himanta Biswa Sarma said, "We have ties with BPF in the state level till 2021 and until the new government is formed this alliance will continue. We are hopeful that the three ministers in our government will perform their duties smoothly. We will decide what we will do after 2021 as we have not thought about now."
