About State Institute of Health & Family Welfare Karnataka: State Institute of Health & Family Welfare (SIHFW), being an apex institute of the Health & Family Welfare Department, was established in the year 1996, under IPP- IX (K) and is situated in the Leprosy Hospital Campus, 1st Cross, Magadi road, Bangalore. ‘SIHFW’ is a training hub for ‘HFWS Karnataka’ and is a nodal centre in South India for Family planning training, Maternal health training, Child health training & Miscellaneous Trainings -including routing of NHM Trainings, FRT, Administrative trainings etc., It is also a hub for academic Courses such as DNB Courses, Paramedical courses, LHV,ANM,GNM Courses, PGDHPE, CPHN, Skill training and Distance Learning Courses in Hospital Management, Diploma in Health and Family Welfare Management and Diploma in Public Health Nutrition etc. Works in formulating state training policy, planning, implementation and monitoring evaluation of the in-service training to Medical and paramedical personal in the department.
