Markets Updates: Sensex Falls By 700 Points, Nifty below 17,700

New Delhi: Domestic equity market benchmarks BSE Sensex fell by 700 points on Friday due to fall in heavyweights HDFC, Reliance, Infosys, HDFC Bank shares.

At the same time, there was a decline of more than 200 points in Nifty. After the initial fall, there has been a slight recovery from the lower level in the market. At present, the Sensex is trading at 59,639, down 345 points, while the Nifty is trading at the level of 17780, down 70 points.

Investors have suffered a major setback due to the sell-off in the market as they suffered a loss of Rs 1.68 lakh crore in the initial business itself. Investors have lost a total of Rs 6.5 lakh crore due to the fall in two days.

The Sensex closed at 59,984.70 points, down 1,159 on Thursday due to heavy selling in banking, FMCG and energy stocks. Following this investors lost Rs 4.82 lakh crore due to the big fall in the Sensex.

During today's business, there will be a focus on Reliance, Vodafone Idea, Airtel, ICICI Bank, Adani Green, Bajaj Finserv, ITC, Indigo, NTPC and Maruti.

Apart from these, the companies like Adani Power, Adani Transmission, Apollo Tyres, Bandhan Bank, BPCL and Dr Reddy's listed on BSE will come out with results, due to which the focus will be on them too.

Notably, the IPO worth Rs 1200 crore of the Fino banks has been opened today.
