SBI inaugurates 26 ATMs in tea gardens

GUWAHATI: State Bank of India on Wednesday on its 65th Bank Day inaugurated 26 ATMs in the Tea Garden areas of Assam. The ATMs were virtually inaugurated from the Local Head Office by RS Ramesh, Chief General Manager, State Bank of India, North Eastern Circle, Guwahati.

The 26 ATMs are located in tea gardens of the 12 districts of Assam viz.Kokrazhar-Mornai; Dibrugarh-Tingkhong, Thowra; Lakhimpur-Koilamari, Pathalipam; Jorhat-Methoni, Kakojan, Duffalating; Golaghat Ghilidhary, Koomtai, Rangajan; Sonitpur-Kolony, NayaGhogra, Tarajulie; Sivasagar-Behubor; Hailakandi-Dholai; Cachar-Doyapora, Coombergram, Koomber; Biswanath-Bormahjan, Behali; Tinsukia- ChotaTingrai, Hatimara, Nokhroy, Deohal and Udalguri-Beteli.

Apart of these ATMs two mobile ATM vans are also providing service in tea garden areas of Dibrugarh and Tinsukia. Eight more such mobile ATM vans will be operational shortly in the tea garden areas. The ATMs were open under the Financial Inclusion to cater all the tea garden workers of Assam in particular. These ATMs will fulfil the need of the tea garden workers and nearby residents of the areas who had to travel distant places for withdrawal of their wages, stated a press release.
