Fate of Assam-bound relief parcel

I am a war veteran fighting the three wars of 1962, 1965 and 1971. I have been living in Deonar, Mumbai for 58 years and engaged in social work.

On November 1, 2019 two parcels, containing cloth for flood victims in Assam, bearing numbers CMO73531764IN and CMO73531778IN booked in Deonar Post Office 400088, for HO. Silchar, Assam were posted.

On online tracking, it was showing as dispatched from EPPC Parel on November 4, 2019 for almost 75 days, but there is no end receiver. The addressee visited Guwahati and Silchar RMS for a number of times, and at the same period Deonar Post Office was also informed through reminders, besides my personal visits. The Post Master didn't pay any heed to my complaint, and said that nothing was in his hands.

On February 23, 2020, there was a telephonic call from the post master to inspect the parcels, saying it returned from the GPO via Chembur post office. I found both the parcels wet and torn. There was no trace of addresses written on them. I submitted a written application in which, I mentioned of addresses. The staff of the post office assured me of dispatching the parcels immediately, but it was lying in the post office for about eight months. A complaint was lodged in the Complaint Cell and it worked. Deonar Post Master sent the parcel to EPPC, Parel. On tracking it is now found that EPPC dispatched it October 9, 2020 and till now it has not been received. I am afraid that the parcel may meet the same fate it had met earlier.
