In the present scenario, two former Chief Ministers namely Tarun Gogoi and Digvijay Singh are making news. The old warhorse of Congress refusing to retire from active politics for the sake of his son often tries to make his presence felt among the masses through press conferences. Though he is not accorded the official spokesperson status by his party yet he is doing it in his own way and style, sometimes differing from his party's viewpoint. The second one, Digvijay Singh is ex chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh who is dreaming to make a comeback to sit in the august chair of Chief Minister. Like Mr. Gogoi he doesn't have age in his side, but his strategy is making some noises before the media. The duo's silly antics have been constantly hurting the image of the party, but who will make them understand. At present the young, capable and competent leaders are sidelined and the old guards are still ruling the roost. All these sort of people who are not in their prime are given preference so that the incompetent third generation of dynasty remains unchallenged by the competent young brigade.
