Guwahati: In a development that is certain to make every Assamese swell up with pride, actor Adil Hussain starrer 'Pareeksha' is all set to make its international premiere at the 23rd Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF).

'Pareeksha- the final test' is the latest feature film which is directed by the ace filmmaker Prakash Jha. The film is inspired by a true incident and has been shot primarily in Ranchi, Jharkhand. The film also stars Priyanka Bose, Sanjay Suri, and child actor Shubham Jha.

The feature film had its World premiere in the Indian Panorama section of the 50th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa last year. It will also have a digital premiere on ZEE5 on August 6.

The Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF) which was originally scheduled to take place in June, was also postponed due to the current pandemic COVID-19. But now, the film is all set to be held physically from July 25 to August 2 and will perhaps be the only film festival to have a physical premiere this year.

Pareeksha will be having three screenings at SIFF on July 26, July 28, and August 1 respectively. The film is also set to have its UK premiere at the London Indian Film Festival (LIFF) later.

The film is based on the real experience of former Bihar DGP Abhayanand. The story is written, directed and produced by Prakash Jha and makes a sharp comment on the education system of the country.

Adil Hussain has delivered a killer performance as a rickshaw puller in Ranchi whose aim in life is to enroll his only son (Shubham Jha) in a premier school of the city.
