Amitabh Bachchan Sells Off His Delhi House 'Sopaan' For ₹23 Cr

Avni Bader, the CEO of Nezone group of companies has purchased this property. Avni has known the Bachchan family for more than three and a half decades.

New Delhi: Amitabh Bachchan, the owner of several properties in Mumbai, has recently sold off a property in New Delhi. The house, named 'Sopaan' and located in Delhi's Gulmohar Park, is said to have been sold for a whopping Rs. 23 crore.

The actor's late parents, Harivansh Rai Bachchan and Teji Bachchan used to reside in this house.

According to a report by the Economic Times, Avni Bader, the CEO of Nezone group of companies has purchased this property. Avni has known the Bachchan family for more than three and a half decades.

As per data obtained by Zapkey, the registry of Amitabh's 418.05 square-metre home was completed on December 7, 2021.

Avni has told the media that the structure will be demolished and then newly constructed as per their requirements. He also added that they have been living in the area for many years and we're looking for an additional property. They immediately agreed when this offer came and acquired the asset.

Pradeep Prajapati, a real estate agent from South Delhi, said that Amitabh lived in this property before moving to Mumbai and his parents also moved later. The real estate agent also added that no one has resided in the house for years and further said that the transaction is in line with the market rates.

It is worth noting that Amitabh's mother Teji Bachchan became a member of the Gulmohar Park Housing Society. She was a freelance journalist by profession.

The actor's duplex worth ₹31 crores in Altantis building on Lokhandwala Road in Andheri West was recently rented out with Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon renting the property from him for ₹10 lakh per month for a period of two years.

Big B, as he is commonly referred to, currently resides in Jalsa, a plush bungalow in Juhu, with his family. The two-stored, 10,125 square foot bungalow is located near Juhu's JW Marriott. Amitabh purchased this house from film producer NC Sippy.

The Bachchan's also own another bungalow going by the name of Prateeksha. It is also situated in Mumbai's Juhu and Amitabh used to live with his parents. Amitabh had bought this house back in 1976.
