MUMBAI: In response to the growing controversy surrounding Adipurush, the All India Cine labourers Association, an independent registered organisation of cinema technicians and labourers, has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The organisation has called for a ban on the movie after claiming that it disrespected the Hindu mythological epic Ramayana. Additionally, they requested that a FIR be filed against dialogue writer Manoj Muntashir and director Om Raut for offending religious sensitivities.

According to the letter from AICWA, the movie depicts Lord Ram and Ravan in a way that is reminiscent of video game characters, and its speech has angered Indians both domestically and internationally. The group claims that Prabhu Shri Ram is revered as a god in India by people of all faiths.

In response, the AICWA has called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi to step in and take appropriate steps to stop the future release of the film Adipurush in theatres and on OTT platforms. AICWA is also requesting that a First Information Report (FIR) be made against the movie's producers, Om Raut, Manoj Muntasir Shukla, and the director.

Adipurush, a movie by Om Raut, has been widely criticised, protested, and banned, which has significantly lowered its box office performance. Adipurush only managed to bring in a pitiful 20 crore on Monday, a day that is vital for determining a movie's success. Before that, the film made 340 over the course of a weekend.
