MUMBAI: Fans of Sushant Singh Rajput can rejoice as 'MS Dhoni-The Untold Story,' based on Star Cricketer M.S. Dhoni, is re-released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu on May 12, 2023.
Late Sushant Singh Rajput’s blockbuster film depicts the unique journey of India's most successful cricket captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni. It's a fantastic opportunity to see Sushant Singh Rajput on the big screen again while also reliving Dhoni's inspirational journey.
The movie, which also stars Kiara Advani, Disha Patani, Bhumika Chawla, and Anupam Kher, was one of the most popular in 2016. The film grossed Rs.133 crore at the box office, making it SSR's most successful film.
Sushant Singh Rajput was recognized for his outstanding performance, which broke multiple records. The film even shattered Aamir Khan's blockbuster film 'Dangals' opening day record of Rs.29.80 crore.
Unfortunately, on June 14, 2020, Sushant Singh Rajput committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling at his house in Bandra, Mumbai.
For cricket fans around the world, the 41-year-old wicketkeeper and batter MS Dhoni is an inspiration. He is presently playing for Chennai Super Kings in the ongoing Indian Premier League.
However, he hinted at retirement a few months ago, saying that being 'at the final chapter of his career' would be depressing for his supporters.
Former Indian captain MS Dhoni retired from international cricket on August 15, 2020. In his own unique style, he wrote on Instagram, "From 1929 hrs consider me Retired." The entire country was stunned.
MS Dhoni is the only cricket skipper to have received all of the ICC's accolades. In 2007, India won the ICC World Twenty20, the Asia Cup in 2010 and 2016, the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2011, and the ICC Champions Trophy in 2013.
Dhoni's leadership ended a 28-year drought by lifting the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup trophy, making him only the second Indian captain to do so after Kapil Dev.
Dhoni, who was born in Ranchi, made his debut in December 2004 and featured in 350 one-day internationals in 2007, including three for Asia XI. Over a 16-year career, he amassed 10,773 ODI runs at 50.57 with 10 centuries.
