Dabangg 3 writer Dilip Shukla has confirmed that he is composing a sequel of the 90s clique comedy, Andaz Apna Apna that featured Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Raveena Tandon and Karisma Kapoor in the lead role. Dilip Shukla has also written the content for Salman Khan's Dabangg 3.

Speaking to the media, Dilip said, "I am writing the sequel. It is difficult to pen a sequel. I need to bring something more appealing in contrast with the previous one," including that Preeti Sinha, daughter of maker Vinay Sinha, has asked him to write the film. In any case, he included that the sequel can’t happen without the first stars: "The sequel can't be finished without Salman Khan and Aamir Khan. They will be there alongside three other new cast members."

Talking about writing the script for the film Dabangg, he added, "While I am writing a film I don't remember any of the stars. When I am writing a script, and if my film hero is playing a part of Gunda (hooligan) or whatever, I simply pen down my content remembering that Gunda in my mind. I feel every film that I pen down is a big film. These days, every last one of us knows about the way that the content is the king. A great script is a thing that sells."

Earlier, Rajkumar Santoshi, who directed the first Andaz Apna Apna, had affirmed that a sequel is in the pipeline and stated, "For humor, you need blamelessness. That time, these actors had innocence. Presently, it will look constrained. It looks so cute when a 20-year-old guy is chasing a girl. A now if a 45-50-year-old man is chasing young girls than it will look vulgar.”

The original film was first a box office disaster. It was only later that it became popular and has now become a cult classic among Hindi film lovers.
