MUMBAI: Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone, has been making history with her international tour, bringing honour to India at every turn and repeatedly putting the nation on the map.

On Thursday, the actress posted on Instagram and announced that she has been nominated as a presenter at the Oscars 2023.

In receiving this accolade, Deepika joins celebrities like Emily Blunt, Samuel L. Jackson, Dwayne Johnson, Michael B. Jordan, Janelle Monáe, Zoe Saldana, Jenifer Connelly, Riz Ahmed, and Melissa McCarthy, to name a few.

On Sunday, March 12, 2023, ABC will broadcast the 95th Oscars live.

Deepika Padukone has achieved so much more than she could have ever imagined on a global scale that she is now forging new ground and breaking records on numerous international stages.

The actress has previously displayed her national pride on important stages, such as when she was selected to be the only Indian on the Cannes Jury, when she unveiled the FIFA World Cup trophy, when she was chosen to be the first face of the biggest luxury brand in the world, and on many other occasions.

The actress most recently appeared in Shah Rukh Khan's spy thriller Pathaan, which has just broken the coveted Rs 1,000 crore mark at the international box office.

This put Pathaan on par with movies like SS Rajamouli's RRR ($1,208 million), KGF: Chapter 2 ($1,208 million), Prabhas and Anushka Shetty's Baahubali 2: The Conclusion ($1,788.06 million), and Dangal ($2,070.30 million) from Aamir Khan (Rs 1,170 crore).

Pathaan is the fourth movie in the YRF spy universe, following Hrithik Roshan's War, the Ali Abbas Zafar-directed Tiger Zinda Hai (2017), and the Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif-starring Ek Tha Tiger (2012). (2019).
