MUMBAI: On Wednesday, an FIR was filed in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, against Gauri Khan, the wife of Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan.
Gauri has been charged with criminal breach of trust in accordance with Section 409 of the Indian Criminal Code (IPC).
Jaswant Shah, a resident of Mumbai, filed the case, alleging that the company—for which Gauri served as the brand ambassador—failed to deliver the apartment despite charging Rs 86 lakh.
According to the lawsuit, the apartment in Lucknow's Sushant Golf City neighborhood's Tulsiyani Golf View was given to another person.
Anil Kumar Tulsiyani, the CMD of Tulsiyani Construction and Development Limited, and Mahesh Tulsiyani, the company's director, were both named in the complaint in addition to Gauri.
The complaint claimed Gauri Khan, a brand ambassador, had an impact on his decision to purchase the apartment.
The timing of this coincides with Shah Rukh Khan's recent blockbuster Pathaan, which has earned him the nickname "Badshah" of Bollywood.
The spy thriller Pathaan, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, just surpassed the coveted Rs 1,000 crore milestone at the international box office.

Pathaan is the fourth movie in the YRF spy universe, following Hrithik Roshan's War, the Ali Abbas Zafar-directed Tiger Zinda Hai (2017), and the Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif-starring Ek Tha Tiger (2012). (2019).
