Eminem Makes History By Breaking RIAA Record For Most Gold & Platinum Certified Singles

American rapper Marshall Bruce Mathers III popularly known as Eminem in a recent achievement has become the most gold and platinum-certified singles artist in history.

The rapper and songwriter have become the RIAA's (Recording Industry Association of America) new ruler of gold & platinum singles with this big success.

Notably, the American record producer Eminem is one of the best-selling music artists with international sales of over 220 million records approximately.

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) informed that Eminem with this success has become the top awarded act for singles in the 64 years history of the association's Gold and Platinum program.

Eminem's new 73.5 million certifications and a total of 227.5 million cumulative US certificates helped him to the most certified singles in RIAA's Gold and Platinum history.

With the disclosure of 73.5 million new award units on Tuesday 8 March, the career haul of the Oscar-winning rapper at present sits as 227.5 million comprises 61.5 million album certifications and 166 million single certifications.

The rapper in addition has also become one among the 7 artists with 3 or more Diamond certified albums for sales of over 10 million units in the United States.

In the year 1999 Eminem had released his 2nd album titled 'The Real Slim Shady' that featured the classical single 'My Name Is.' The rapper has made a notable contribution to the music industry with songs such as Interscope, Shady and Aftermath among others.

Eminem won the Oscars awards in 2002 in the category of 'Best Original' for his hip hop track titled 'Lose Yourself' from the film '8 miles' where he was featured. The singer rose to fame with numerous albums which turned out to be big hits worldwide.

In the recent work front, the rapper worked as a part of the historic Super Bowl Halftime Show featuring renowned American rappers Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, Dr Dre and singer Mary J. Blige.
