GUWAHATI: Assamese well-known actor Gyanendra Pallab Baruah passes away on Thursday 21 April in Guwahati.
The actor took his last breath during the early hours on Thursday at his residence in the Hengrabari area of Guwahati. The cause of the actor's death is reportedly liver disease.
According to reports, in the last couple of months, Gyanendra was suffering from certain liver issues. He was also receiving medical treatment before his death.
The actor is survived by his wife RJ (Radio Jockey) Megha, a daughter and a son.
Gyanendra is known widely for his contribution to the Assamese film industry as he was featured in several movies in the Assamese language.
Throughout his career, the noted Assamese actor has performed in numerous critically acclaimed Assamese movies.
Gyanendra also appeared in the 2008 Assamese hit 'Mon Jaai' directed by Moirangthem Maniram Singha starring Zubeen Garg and Nishita Goswami in lead roles. In the film, he played the role of a friend.
The actor has gained massive attention and won hearts through his performance in every film he was featured.
Apart from movies, Gyanendra also rose to fame and gained recognition through the Assamese television industry.
He acted alongside singer, actor and composer Zubeen Garg and Navadeep Borgohain in a very famous Assamese TV serial titled 'Anuradha.'
For his outstanding performance in acting, the actor was honoured with two accolades which include 'Best Actor' for his role in the movie titled 'Me and My sister' directed by Nipon Dholua.
Meanwhile, many from the Assamese film fraternity expressed their grief and mourned the sudden demise of the actor and offers condolences to the family members.
