NEW DELHI: Popular Canadian pop singer Justin Bieber revealed on Friday that he had been diagnosed with a virus, which made half of his face paralyzed and forced him to cancel some of his upcoming shows so that he could focus on his recovery.
In an Instagram video that he posted, he said that he had caught Ramsay Hunt Syndrome, where the nerves of his ears and face were affected. He noticed that his right eye wasn't blinking, by saying "I can't smile on this side of my face. This nostril will not move. So there's full paralysis on this side of my face".
Justin Bieber, who is 28 years old, said that he won't be able to physically perform in his upcoming shows as he has been doing facial exercises in order to recover.
He said, "It will go back to normal," he said. "It's just time, and we don't know how much time that's going to be".
Justin Bieber became popular when he was 13years old and went on to become a global sensation with his songs like 'Baby', 'Believe'. He had won two Grammy awards, among 22 nominations, that includes a record and song of the year nods for this year's 'Peaches'.
Earlier, promoters of AEG Presents Asia and BookMyShow announced that the renowned pop leading singer Justin Drew Bieber is going to perform in New Delhi on October 18.
The musical performance is arranged at New Delhi's JLN Stadium for which the tickets will be accessible on BookMyShow from June 4. As per reports, the pre-sale will begin on June 2 and the rate of tickets starts from Rs 4,000.
As a fragment of his Justice World Tour, he will be going rounds around 30 countries and staging a handful number of shows around 125 concerts starting from May 2022 and ending in March 2023 in order to promote his freshly made album named 'Justice'.
Bieber's post comes after he cancelled his shows in Toronto and Washington, D.C. The singer demonstrated in the video that he could barely move one side of his face, calling the ailment "pretty serious."
"For those frustrated by my cancellations of the next shows, I'm just physically, obviously not capable of doing them," he said. The singer added, "My body's telling me I've got to slow down. I hope you guys understand." Bieber said he's unsure how long he'll take to heal. But he appeared positive about making a full recovery through rest and therapy.
