Hollywood filmmaker James Cameron has accepted the defeat from the hands of Marvel’s latest film, Avengers: Endgame. The superhero film recently bumped Jim’s Titanic from the second position on the list of most successful movies ever made.
James Cameron tweeted a picture of the Titanic sinking into the ocean after hitting the Avenger’s logo. “To Kevin (Feige, producer) and everyone at Marvel, an iceberg sank the real Titanic. It took the Avengers to sink my Titanic. Everyone here at Lightstorm Entertainment salutes your amazing achievement. You’ve shown that movie industry is not only alive and well, it’s bigger than ever,” he wrote in his tweet.

Several Marvel fans thanked him for his humble response and showed support for his upcoming ‘Avatar’ movies. “Non petty king! Can’t wait for Avatar 2!” wrote a fan in his comment. Another asked if he has another tweet like this one prepared for once Endgame dethrones his film Avatar as the most successful movie in the world. “It takes heaps handy the baton like this. I can respect that. Now, you bought another one among these things ready and awaiting A4 to require Avatar down? I hope thus,” read a tweet.
Endgame has collected $2.2 billion in less than two weeks of its release. Titanic’s lifespan collections were $2.1 billion. Avengers: Endgame is an anticipated to eclipse Avatar, presently standing at $2.78 billion.
Jim’s appreciation for a Marvel picture show comes as a big surprise considering how he has antecedently shown his disapproval for superhero movies. “I’m hoping we’re getting to begin Avenger fatigue. Not that I don’t love the films. It’s just, come on, guys, there are different stories to tell besides, you know, hypogonadal males without families doing death-defying things for 2 hours and wrecking cities in the process.” Fans recognized that Cameron has 5 Avatar sequels in the works and is currently producing the sixth film in his Terminator series. His comments came when Marvel’s Panther had crossed Titanic at the US box workplace.
In another instance, James Cameron referred to as Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman ‘a step backward’ and therefore the character ‘an objectified icon’. Jenkins issued the subsequent response: “James Cameron’s inability to understand what woman is, or stands for, to women all over the world is unsurprising as, although he's a good producer, he's not women I believe women can and should be EVERYTHING just like male lead characters should be. There is no right and wrong kind of powerful woman.”
