MUMBAI: Bollywood actor Salman Khan has received a new death threat via email, and as a result, the Mumbai police have opened an investigation and filed a case.
Salman's neighbours have increased security, and the actor's family has encouraged him to steer clear of outside shooting. According to reports, once Salman Khan received the threat, the atmosphere around his home was rather somber.
According to a source cited by ETimes, “Everyone in Salman Khan's family and his team is serious and very concerned about his safety. These new threats have shaken things up, but they also know that the police have responded well and are making sure that the security arrangements are appropriate. His team has been told to avoid any on-ground events for the next few days. He also has a movie (Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan) release coming up and they will have to plan any promotional activities accordingly."
In the next few days, his crew has been instructed to stay away from any on-ground activities. Also, the release of his film (Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan) is soon, so any promotional efforts must be planned accordingly.
In the scary email threat addressed to a close friend of Salman, it was said that the gangster Lawrence Bishnoi's "life's goal was to assassinate Salman Khan" and made reference to his recent interview.
In response, the Bandra Police increased security outside Salman's residence in Bandra West, launched an investigation into the most recent developments, and detained Bishnoi and his associate Goldy Brar.
The Hindi email was sent by Rohit Garg, who also wanted to speak with the actor. After receiving a complaint from "Team Salman," the police have also detained him.
The email advises Salman to watch the Bishnoi interview if he hasn't already and to speak with Garg and Brar in person if he wants to end the matter. He would set up the meeting.
Gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi, Goldie Brar, and Rohit Brar have been charged with violating sections 506 (2), 120 (B), and 34 of the IPC by threatening Salman Khan over email.
