Versatile Actor Kamal Hassan Hospitalised In Chennai

Kamal Hassan was admitted in SRMC on Wednesday due to complaint of fever after coming back from Hyderabad

CHENNAI : Versatile actor Kamal Hassan was hospitalised on Wednesday night in Chennai. Kamal complained of fever after which he was admitted in Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre (SRMC) in Chennai.

As per the reports, doctors have advised Kamal to take rest for a few days before he resumes his work. He is expected to be discharged by Thursday, 24th November. Pictures of Kamal visiting the veteran filmmaker K Vishwanath at his home in Hyderabad were flowing all over the internet. Kamal was admitted to the hospital hours after he came back from the filmmaker's house.

He shared a picture with Vishwanath, with a caption "Met the master K Vishwanath Sir at his home. Lots of nostalgia and respect". K Vishwanath was sitting in a wheelchair while Kamal was bowed in front of him holding his hand. Last year, Kamal Hassan was hospitalised due to Covid-19 after he returned from the United States. He made everyone aware that the virus still exists among us. Hassan had mild symptoms of cough and was kept in isolation for a few days.

After a gap, Kamal made his huge comeback in the silver screen with the movie 'Vikram'. Lokesh Kanagaraj is the director and it's a action thriller. Vijay Sethupathi and Fahad Faasil were his co stars for this film. The budget was 150 crore and it made Rs 500 crore in the box office making it a blockbuster movie. It was released in three languages Hindi, Tamil and Telugu and it also came across as the second highest-grossing Tamil was film of the year.

Hassan's next project is a sequel of 'Indian', a superhit film of 1996. Hassan will be working with Shankar for this film after a decade. Urmila Matondkar, Manisha Koirala and Sukanya were the cast in the original movie. This time in the sequel, Rakul Preet and Kajal Agarwal will be in the female lead.

Apart from serving hit films in the industry, Kamal Hassan has also worked as a screenwriter, filmmaker, playback singing, television presenter and a politician. He has a strong grip in the Tamil film industry and has been recognised as an influence for actors and filmmakers. Hassan was awarded with Padma Bhushan, Padma Shri and Filmfare Award for Best actor.
