London: A woman hailing from South London was found dead on her sofa with pink party balloons next to her after the door of her balcony swung open following storm Eunice.

The astonishing part is that her corpse lay unnoticed for two years.

The skeletal body of Sheila Seleoane, a 61 year old medical secretary, laid beside deflated pink party balloons, according to her neighbor Ms Bent who resides in the same corridor on the fourth floor of the block in Lord's Court, Peckham.

Meanwhile, Pathologists are trying to figure out the reason behind her death. Reportedly, they have presumed that she died alone in Peabody Trust's Flat 16.

Sheila's step-sister Julia Bella Brooms, whom she has never met during her lifetime, was traced to South Africa and was informed about her demise. Upon receiving the news, Julia was startled as to why no one was aware of her death for so long.

Sheila's neighbors have revealed that although they greeted the medical secretary in passing, it was just confined to a "hi, bye" relationship.

"She was always well put-together, and wore a smart black coat, black trousers and black court shoes, with her hair tied in a bun," a young woman who lived opposite Sheila said.

Complaints were being made by the residents, who lived in the same corridor as Sheila to housing associate Peabody trust about the odour emanating from her house.

However, the dreadful smile disappeared for a brief period of time only to return again and this time it came back in waves. This compelled the irritated neighbours to call the housing association Peabody, who reportedly opened the hallway window and "that was it."

The 61 year old, who appeared to have no friends, continued to lay in her home alone until police discovered her mortal remains on February 18, 2022.

As per the Daily Mail, her death has been described as "not suspicious" by the police. Sheila's sister has asked for her body to be flown back to South Africa, where she will be buried in the family plot along with her mother.
