In a recent development, Burj Khalifa and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company's tower were lit up with the colours of the Indian Tricolour to mark the celebration of the 74th Independence day on Saturday.

As per reports, the display of the Indian Tricolour embodied the deep friendship and co-operation between the people of the two countries.

Notably, this year's celebrations are of special attention as they coincide with the official visit of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, to New Delhi to participate as the chief guest of India's Republic Day celebrations.

Sheikh Mohammed is leading a high-profile delegation, including ministers, senior officials and entrepreneurs as well.

Earlier, the President, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, had sent a congratulatory message to Indian President Ram Nath Kovind and PM Modi on the occasion.

On the other hand, Pakistan's flag was also lit up with the display of the Pakistani flag on the tallest and most famous skyscraper after highlighting the strong friendly relations the UAE and Pakistan share.
