Former Pakistan PM Imran Khan Arrested in Qadir Trust Case, Section 144 Imposed

NEW DELHI: On Tuesday, former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan was detained outside the Islamabad High Court as he entered for a hearing. Rangers were accused of dragging the 70-year-old by the collar when the Ex-PM was going through the court's biometric process.

According to Imran Khan's Pakistan-Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party members, the former Prime Minister was arrested after the country's powerful army accused Mr Khan of making bogus claims against a senior officer of the intelligence agency ISI.

Pakistan Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, on the other hand, tweeted in Urdu that Imran Khan had failed to appear in court despite receiving many notices. "The National Accountability Bureau conducted the arrest for causing losses to the national treasury."

Furthermore, before going for the hearing, Imran Khan broadcast a live video in which he discussed his anticipated arrest and stated, "...when these words reach you, I will already be locked up in an unlawful case." Meanwhile, According to reports, the court previously took account of Khan's arrest, and IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq has apparently instructed the Islamabad police chief and the interior ministry secretary to appear before the court within 15 minutes to explain why and in which case the arrest was made. head Justice Aamer Farooq said he used restraint and threatened to call Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif if the Islamabad police head did not appear in court.

According to the claims, Bahria Town, a private real estate business, granted Al-Qadir Trust, which is owned by the PTI chairman Imran Khan and his wife, land worth 530 million Pakistani rupees. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) ordered Khan's detention. According to NAB officials, arrest warrants were filed for Khan on May 1.
