Iconic Burj khalifa displays Mahatma Gandhi's images on his 151th birth anniversary

On the occasion of 151st birth anniversary of Gandhi, the consulate officials also hold a cleanliness drive in the premises.

To commemorate the 151st birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the iconic skyscraper Burj Khalifa in UAE lit up with a special colourful LED show in the honour of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti.

As per reports, the special LED show was jointly organised by the Indian Embassy, Abu Dhabi, Indian Consulate in Dubai.

The official Twitter handle of Burj Khalifa in a tweet stated "Be the change that you wish to see in the world"- Immortal words spoken by #MahatmaGandhi, the father of the entire nation of India."

The Indian mission informed that the programme started with Gandhiji's popular bhajan 'Vaishnava Jana"

 On the occasion of 151st birth anniversary of Gandhi, the consulate officials also hold a cleanliness drive in the premises.

With the support from the Indian community residing in UAE , 151 trees will be planted on different sites to mark the occasion.

In the iconic leader's remembrance, October 2 is also marked as the 'International Non-Violence day' as a tribute to his non-violent strategies that led to India's independence from the British colonial rule in 1947
