Guwahati: Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan seems to be lacking a lot, right from breaking the diplomatic protocols and lacking the simple signs of courtesy to being poor in general knowledge. Khan, on Wednesday, created another controversy by making the wrong attributes of a famous quote. Notably, the quote was made by legendary Indian litterateur, poet and Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore, but an ignorant Imran Khan gave the attributes of the quote to Lebanese-American poet Khalil Gibran.
The 66-year-old got trolled when he shared an inspirational quote of Rabindranath Tagore that reads “I slept and dreamed that life is all joy. I woke and I saw that life is all service. I served and I saw that service is joy”. While sharing this quote, Khan captioned it saying “Those who discover and get to understand the wisdom of Gibran’s words cited below, get to live a life of contentment”.
Ironically, Khan remained so lost in discovering the wisdom of the words that he did not consider it necessary to confirm which wise legend said the quoted words. However, it did not take much longer for him to realize what mistake he did as around 2000 people commented on the post, most of who did not miss a chance of making fun of the PM. People asked Khan to get his things confirmed before saying it in public. Some others teased him for his poor knowledge.
However, the post also received around 5000 retweets and 23,000 likes.
Journalist Murtaza Solangi tweeted, “Mr Khan it doesn’t hurt to Google a quote if you are not into reading. By copying a Tagore’s quote and attributing it to Khalil Gibran, you are not only getting mocked but you are making a laughing stock of the country in the process! Please!”
Another user wrote, “Another gem from Imran Khan’s trove of knowledge, shares Tagore’s work and calls it work of Kahlil Gibran.”
Well, whether it is for his lack of knowledge or slip of tongue, Imran Khan has not missed a chance in making headlines. One such notable instance that can be cited here is when Khan had visited Iran in April, he had said that Japan and Germany shared borders. Such silly mistakes coming from a person like Pakistan Prime Minister is least expected.
