NEW DELHI: The Indian Embassy in Israel issued a critical advisory on Saturday in response to the declaration of a 'state of war' in Israel following a massive attack launched by Hamas militants from Gaza. Indian citizens in Israel have been advised to exercise caution, remain vigilant, and adhere to safety protocols outlined by local authorities.

The embassy released a statement stating, "In view of the current situation in Israel, all Indian nationals in Israel are requested to remain vigilant and observe safety protocols as advised by local authorities. Please exercise caution, avoid unnecessary movement, and stay close to safety shelters."

Furthermore, Embassy authorities stressed the importance of promptly contacting officials in the event of an emergency.

The crisis unfolded as Hamas launched approximately 5,000 rockets from Gaza, marking one of the most significant attacks on Israel in years. Additionally, multiple armed militants from Hamas infiltrated into Israel by crossing the border.

In response to the escalating situation, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a video statement, affirming, "We are at war, and we will win." He added, "Our enemy will pay a price the type of which it has never known."

The Israeli army initiated 'Operation Iron Swords' against Hamas militants, with the Air Force launching an offensive utilizing numerous fighter jets to target the Palestinian militant group Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

Intense fighting is currently underway between the Israeli army and Hamas militants, marking a critical point in the ongoing conflict.

The Gaza Strip's ruling Hamas militant group initiated an unprecedented, multi-front assault on Israel early Saturday, launching thousands of rockets while dozens of Hamas fighters infiltrated the heavily fortified border via air, land, and sea. This surprise attack occurred during a major holiday and caught Israel off-guard.

Six hours after the invasion commenced, Hamas militants were still engaged in armed confrontations within several Israeli communities, demonstrating a surprising display of strength that left the nation shaken.

Israel's national rescue service reported a death toll of at least 22 individuals and hundreds of injuries, marking it as the deadliest attack in Israel in years.

The Soroka Medical Centre in Beersheba, located in southern Israel, stated that it was providing treatment to at least 280 casualties, with 60 of them in serious condition.
