SpirtWorld's largest vivid pink diamond named 'The Spirit of the Rose' will be auctioned at Geneva Magnificent Jewels and Noble Jewels auction on November 11. The 14.83 carat diamond's worth is estimated between US$23 and US$38 million.
The sparkling rate diamond was mined in Russia's northeast by Alrosa. Alrosa is one of the leading diamond producers of the world. The diamond was graded by Gemological Institute of America with the highest colour and clarity and classified as Type II diamond. This is the purest grade form given to diamond crystals.
The diamond is named after the Russian ballet 'The Spirit of the Rose'. It is the second-largest oval diamond to be offered at auction. The largest was a 118.28-carat diamond and was sold at a whopping record price of US$30.8 million in 2013.
