Manchester: With the advent of app-based Cabs, it has become easier for people, who do not have their own car to move from one place to another. Such people reach their destination with the help of these cabs, but sometimes these app-based cabs cause problems to the passengers. One of the biggest problems is overcharging.

Recently, one such incident of overcharging happened with a young man in England's Manchester city as he was charged a whopping of £104 (Rs 10,413) after travelling just 11 miles (17.7 km). The charges shocked him and undoubtedly it will blow one's senses if one hears it.

According to a report, Sam George lives with his family in Manchester City and on December 27, he made a plan to have a party with his friends. Since, it had been a long night, while partying in the Night Club, the man looked for cabs of different companies, but could not find any. However, he saw a car in the XL i.e. SUV range in Uber. Eventually, he booked the same cab as the night was long and after reaching home he was shocked after seeing the fare.

According to him, a fare worth Rs 10 thousand was charged from Sam for the distance of 17 kilometres. Interestingly, even, if you add the charge of a luxury car, the charged fare for 17 km is too high.

Meanwhile, responding to this, Uber, claimed that all fares on their app are calculated and customers are provided with a fee before accepting a ride.

However, a few people on social media are also raising questions about Sam as he didn't notice the fare before booking the ride.
