Man Survives 2.5 Hour Flight from Guatemala to Miami Hiding in Plane's Landing Gear

In a shocking video, a 26 years old man was apprehended in Miami International Airport who survived a 2.5-hour flight from Guatemala City to Miami hiding in a plane’s landing gear.

On Saturday 27 November in an American Airline jet, a man was found hidden inside the landing gear compartment who survived a flight of 2.5 hours which departed from his hometown Guatemala, Central America, and landed in Miami, Florida.

This shocking and strange incident was confirmed by the CBP, U.S Customs and Border Protection Agency through a statement which was recently quoted by Miami based TV station called WTVJ. The statement of U.S Customs and Border Protection (CBP) stated that CBP officers have arrested a man of 26 years old who tried to escape detection in the plane's compartment of landing gear coming from Guatemala on Saturday 27 November.

According to the statement issued by American Airlines, Flight 1182 arriving from the city of Guatemala to Miami reached after morning 10 AM as per local timing and the flight was met by law enforcement officers for security concerns. Apart from these the American airline provided no other information.

The WTVJ television station posted a video on their channel which shows a man taken at the Miami International Airport soon after the plane landed. After being caught the man was handed over to the officials of the U.S Immigration department and then he was taken to hospital for further medical observation. The officials added that the investigation of this incident is still going on.

In the video shared on the social media page 'Only in Dade' on Instagram, the stowaway was seen sitting on a tarmac looked unharmed without any injury but appeared shocked. He was wearing a T-shirt, blue jeans, boots and a jacket. The video also shows a ground crew officer asking the landing man if he needed some water to drink.

Traveling by flight from Guatemala to Miami needs two and a half hours and over the last years, Guatemala City has considered around 7.1 million migrants arrested or rejected by the agents of the U.S border among which many are Central American running gangs.

The Federal Aviation Administration refused to say anything on this incident on Saturday as it mentioned 129 individual across the world has tried to stow away in landing gear and other areas of aircraft since the year 1947 and among those 129, 100 encounter deaths because of severe injuries.
