Sentinel Digital Desk

KATHMANDU: The official Twitter account of Nepalese Prime Minister, Pushpa Kamal Dahal was compromised early on Thursday.

The Prime Minister's official Twitter account, @PM nepal_, was compromised and had the user name "Blur" on it. The following for the account was 690.1K.

It appears that the "Blur" account is a non-fungible token marketplace for professional traders. The account's bio stated, "The professional traders' NFT marketplace. in support of @paradigm. Now LIVE is in Season 2. Discord can be found at discord.gg/blurdao. Foundation website address: blur.foundation”

A tweet about the NFT was pinned by @PM Nepal in the hacked Twitter account which read, "The summoning process has begun. Prepare your BAKC/SewerPass and descend into the pit. https://thesummoning.party."

The display image of the compromised account was that of Blur's verified account. 240.3K people follow Blur's official account on the microblogging site.

The bio was soon updated to "Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Government of Nepal" when the account was quickly recovered. The reactivated Twitter account has only 1,013 followers and no tweets. Regarding the hacking of the Twitter account of the Nepali prime minister, no formal remark was made.

According to reports, a bunch of fraudsters obtained the PANs of various Bollywood actors and cricket players through their online-accessible GST Identity Numbers.

Abhishek Bachchan, Shilpa Shetty, Madhuri Dixit, Emraan Hashmi, and Mahendra Singh Dhoni are some of the celebrities whose identities and information were exploited by the con artists, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Shahadra Rohit Meena.

Only after the thieves used some of these cards to buy goods worth Rs 21.32 lakh did the company learn about the crime. The Delhi Police were promptly notified, and they launched an operation to apprehend five of them.

According to Delhi Police, the five defendants—Puneet, Mohd Asif, Sunil Kumar, Pankaj Mishar, and Vishwa Bhaskar Sharma—acted in concert to defraud the company in an innovative way.

It should be noted that they revealed their special method of operation when questioned. They previously obtained these celebrities' GST information through Google. They were well aware that the PAN number comes after the GSTIN, after the first two state codes. They similarly falsified the information on their Aadhar cards.

When they learned this, they applied for credit cards.
