KYIV: According to sources, there is worry within Europe regarding the big response from Moscow and its implications on food and energy security as China escalates in the Indo-Pacific, while the 10-month-old Ukraine war is ready to turn against Russia due to the deployment of the newest US algorithmic military systems.

Russia may launch a huge counterattack to defend the Donbas and Luhansk land it has gained in Eastern Ukraine if Ukraine is now able to reverse the Russian onslaught, according to External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar during his week-long trip to Cyprus and Austria. There is a chance that Ukraine might even expand the conflict into Russian territory, turning the tables on President Vladimir Putin, thanks to the continual availability of US algorithmic stand-off weapons systems and long-range artillery pieces.

Apart from DG IAEA Raphael Gossi in Vienna, EAM Jaishankar also had meetings with the leaders of Cyprus, Austria, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia. It is acknowledged that throughout his discussions with the leadership of Eastern Europe, it was pretty obvious that the Ukraine war may persist and worsen an already-growing level of instability in Europe.

According to information obtained, EAM Jaishankar's counterparts in Cyprus, Austria, Czechia, and Slovakia were well aware of India's position regarding the Ukraine War and appreciated India's firm stance to defend its territory from the PLA's belligerent posture along the 3488 km Line of Actual Control (LAC).

The European Foreign Ministers recognised that despite Moscow's assault on Ukraine, India has a longstanding hardware connection with Russia that cannot be abruptly severed. The truth is that more than 60 to 70 percent of the weapons and ammunition used by India are made in Russia, and the two countries have maintained tight connections since the US-led west decided to back India's western and northern rival in the past. India has no choice but to carry on with its history since replacing military systems doesn't happen overnight but takes decades due to the cross-border terrorism India faces from Pakistan and the territorial challenge from China in the north.
