The Employees' State Insurance (ESI) plan provides
beneficiaries with an ESI card, which is a health card. The Employees' State
Insurance Corporation, which is an autonomous organization within the Indian
government and operates under the ESI Act, 1948, is in charge of the system.
All workers participating in the ESI system receive an ESI
card, which is a smart identity magnetic card. Two cards are supplied to the
insured person, one for himself and one for his or her dependents. To use the
medical facilities at the hospitals, the insured individual must present a
physical copy of the ESI card.

ESIC Registration Process:
ESI plan is done entirely online.
- Login to ESIC Portal
- On the Sign up Page, fill in the required
information.
- Confirmation Mail and Receive Username and
Password Details
- Enter Login Details on the ESIC portal
- Select New Employer Registration and Select Unit

Documents Required
- Registration Certificate obtained either under
the:
- Factories Act, or
- Shops and Establishment Act.
- Certificate of Registration in case of a
company, and partnership deed in case of a partnership firm.
- Memorandum of Association and Articles of
Association of the company.
- Address proof of the establishment, such as the
utility bills or rental agreement.
- A list of all the employees working in the
establishment.
- PAN Card of the business establishment as well
as all the employees working in the establishment.
- The compensation details of all the employees.
- A cancelled cheque of the bank account of the
company.
- List of directors of the company.
- List of the shareholders of the company.
- A register containing the attendance of the
employees.
Eligibility:
The employee's or workers monthly wage must not exceed Rs.
21,000 for non-disabled individuals and Rs. 25,000 for disabled people to be
eligible for the ESI plan.

Under the ESIC Act of 1948, an ESI card is required to
participate in various medical schemes. The methods to download an ESIC e
pehchan card from the ESIC portal are as follows:
- Log in to the ESIC site using the user
credentials you were given by ESIC when you registered for ESIC.
- Click on "e-pehchan card" on the
employee part of the ESIC website.
- To display personnel details, you must first
pick the unit data for your organization.
- You'll be able to see information on employees
who work for your company. Enter a specific employee's ESIC insurance number to
acquire information about them. You'll now be able to see information about
that individual employee.
- On the employee detail page, select "View
counter foil."This counter foil is nothing more than the employee's
e-pehchan card.
- Select the print option from the same employee
page. This would print that employee's ESIC card automatically.
- The e pehchan card must be printed by the
employee. On the printout, he must now suffix a photograph of himself and his
dependant. Employees or ESIC officials should self-attest to this image.
- Employees must also obtain an official stamp
from the organisation or ESIC in order to use their ESIC card for full benefits.
