New Delhi: Royal Enfield is all set to kick start the year 2022 with the launch of its latest bike - the Scram 411. But, the ongoing surge in covid cases across the country has forced the company to delay its grand launch by at least a month.

The bike was previously set for a February 2022 launch, but now, it is likely to go on sale in the country only by March 2022, according to sources.

Several other automakers have been compelled to conduct digital events as a result of the rising cases of the latest omicron variant of covid.

Royal Enfield's very first launch for the year 2022 will be the Scram 411. This latest motorbike will basically be a derivation of the company's popular Himalayan ADV and will be a more road-centric version of the Himalayan Adventure bike.

It was spotted performing its rounds of testing on the public roads in a new dual-tone paint theme. The bike's prototype was seen sporting a dual-tone red-black fuel tank and the rest of the body parts were seen dipped in black.

411cc, single-cylinder unit will sit at the heart of Scram. It is known to churn out 24.3 bhp of maximum power. The transmission will be no different and will remain the same as found on the Himalayan.

Also, the front wheel of the Scram will be most likely 19-inch, which is 2 inches smaller as compared to the Himalayan, which has a front wheel of 21 inch.

However, the rear wheel will remain unchanged with a 17-inch spoke wheel.

The Scram 411 will cost around Rs. 1.90 lakh at the time of its launch. Royal Enfield could also potentially launch its Hunter 350 or Shotgun 650 (SG650) this year.
