3 Hizbul militants killed in J&K's Shopian district

This is the second encounter of a similar kind in Kashmir in the last 24 hours

Guwahati: As many as 3 militants were killed in an encounter with security forces on Saturday morning in Amshipora village of south Kashmir's Shopian district. The militants killed are believed to be part of the terrorist group Hizbul Mujahideen.

The encounter took place at the end of a joint search operation carried out by Police, Army's 62 RR, and CRPF's cordon following reports of militants lurking in the area. When the joint team of forces reached the area, the militants fired upon them which led to the encounter leading to the death of 3 terrorists.

This is the second encounter in Kashmir within the last 24 hours. On Friday morning, in a similar incident, three Jaish militants were killed in Kashmir's Kulgam district.

Jammu and Kashmir this year witnessed several such encounters between the militants and security forces and a minimum of 133 militants,including some top commanders of different terrorist groups, have been killed in these encounters.
