In the latest development in the Sushant Singh Rajput demise case, reports quoting AIIMS doctors states that the Bollywood actor was not murdered but had committed suicide.
The panel of doctors at AIIMS under the leadership of Dr. Sudhir Gupta was formed at the request of the CBI in August to assist in giving medico-legal opinion in connection with the death of the late actor.
According to AIIMS sources, the forensic team in its report has hinted that the actor committed suicide and they have ruled out all theories of murder.
Sources said that the team of doctors from AIIMS told the CBI that the AIIMS panel has concurred with the opinion of the Mumbai hospital that carried out the autopsy of the late actor.
Mumbai hospital's autopsy reports had found "asphyxia due to hanging" as the cause of death.
According to sources, the CBI is likely to probe the actor's death as "abetment to suicide."
CBI informed "So far, no evidence has come up to prove it to be a case of murder. If during the course of investigation, we get any evidence, murder charge will be added. For now, abetment to suicide and other charges in the FIR are being probed."
It is to be mentioned that Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Mumbai apartment on June 14. The CBI registered a case on August 6 on the notification of the Centre after the Bihar government recommended for a federal agency probe on the complaint of the late actor's father K.K. Singh.
