Akshay Kumar Has Accepted To Work As Brand Ambassador Of Uttarkhand Says CM Dhami

Akshay Kumar is appointed as the new brand ambassador of Uttarakhand after meeting CM Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday 7 February.

NEW DELHI: Just ahead of the Assembly election on Monday 7 February, Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Pushkar Singh Dhami held a meeting with Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar and discuss Akshay becoming the state's new ambassador.

The actor met the chief minister on Monday morning at the residence of CM located in Dehradun. After the meeting, the CM informed that Akshay has accepted the proposal to work as the brand ambassador of Uttarakhand.

Earlier in 2021, the brand ambassador of Uttarakhand was cricketer Rishabh Pant from Roorkee of Haridwar district.

Dhami stated that the state government had earlier sent a proposal to Akshay Kumar to be in the role of the state's brand ambassador and now the actor has finally been informed about his decision of accepting the offer.

The chief minister presented Akshay with flowers and a cap congratulating him on being appointed as the brand ambassador of the state Uttarakhand.

During the meeting between the CM and actor on Monday, Akshay wished Dhami the best of luck for the upcoming poll elections scheduled this month on the 14th.

On the same day, Akshay took to Twitter to express his love for Uttarakhand and wrote that people called Uttarakhand Devbhoomi for a reason. He further wrote that he has shot in most exotic areas across the world but Mussoorie is different from all. Along with the caption, the actor also posted a video of him inside a car.

In the year 2017, Akshay was appointed as the brand ambassador of Uttarkhand for the campaign called 'Swachhta Abhiyan.'

On the work front, Akshay Kumar will appear in the film 'Bachpan Pandey' to be released on 18 March 2022. He has recently shared updates about the upcoming action-adventure film titled 'Ram-Setu' directed by Abhishek Sharma.

Akshay will be seen in the film as an archaeologist and other casts include Nushratt Bharuccha and Jacqueline Fernandez. The film is scheduled to have its theatrical release during the occasion of Diwali.

Meanwhile, the Uttarakhand chief minister is seen going for door-to-door campaigns in different locations of the state as just a few days are left for the Assembly elections. The results of the polling in the state will be declared on 10 March.
