NEW DELHI: Mohan Bhagwat, the leader of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), declared on Thursday that everyone in India is a Hindu and that everyone, regardless of religion, who considers India to be his motherland is a Hindu.

"All the people of India are Hindus. Whoever considers India as his motherland is a Hindu. Be it a follower of any religion, whatever the dress. This is the truth and Sangh speaks this truth out loud. This is because we have been united for hundreds of years," he said at the closing ceremony of the third Sangh Shiksha organised by the RSS in Nagpur.

Additionally, Bhagwat noted that India's G20 presidency was out of the ordinary.

It is not ordinary that India received the G20 presidency. It is only the beginning. We have a long way to go. The entire society needs to walk together because India cannot become Vishwa Guru through an organisation or institution, the RSS chief said.

Bhagwat added that we must refrain from copying other nations in order to make India an "Atmanirbhar" (self-sufficient).

The Sangh teaches four things: to worship the nation, goodwill, repay the national debt, and adhere to personal and social discipline, Bhagwat said. "If we are imitators, Indians would never become Atma-Nirbhar.

He Warned against mischievous elements and said, we live in diversity, all diversities go together because diversities are many manifestations of one unity. One who understands this is a Hindu. He warned the people that even today there are evil forces and their agents who want to break India and block its progress.

The RSS chief also added that the world must now look to India because, despite numerous attempts over the past 2,000 years to find happiness for humanity, none of them were successful. According to Bhagwat, only India can illuminate the path to world peace because we have always upheld the notion that humanity is a single family.
