NEW DELHI: On Thursday, a TTE was accused of pushing an army soldier under a moving train, causing him to lose his leg and leaving him in a severe situation, according to railway officials.
The victim Sonu was pushed out of the train by TTE Supan Bore following an altercation and he reportedly went under the train.
Sonu, the victim, was allegedly forced off the Dibrugarh-New Delhi Rajdhani Express on Platform Number 2 of the Bareilly Junction early Thursday morning, according to the officials.
Supan Bore, a travelling ticket examiner (TTE), has been detained for attempted murder. Since the incident happened, he is absconding. they claimed,
Sudhir Singh, senior finance manager for the Northern Railways' Moradabad Division, stated, "We are watching the CCTV tape."
Officials from the railway said that a dispute over a ticket resulted in an altercation between Bore and Sonu.
The army man allegedly fell under the train after Bore pushed him out in a fit of rage.
"He was rushed to a military hospital. He has lost his leg and his condition remains critical," an official said.
In another incident that happened recently, a passenger miraculously escaped after falling under a train at the Bharthana railway station in the Etawah district of Uttar Pradesh.
On social media, the incident's video has become very popular.
A train partially went over the man as he fell into the space between the platform and the tracks, but he was unharmed.
When the Superfast Intercity Express arrived at the Bharthana railway station at around 9.45 a.m. after leaving Agra, the incident happened on platform No. 2.
According to reports, the man attempted to get aboard the speeding train but instead fell to the tracks.
The man, who was of lean build, was able to wedge himself between the train and the platform wall, allowing the train to pass over him.
A sizable throng assembled on the platform recorded the entire incident. The man stood up after the train had gone over him, grabbed his possessions from the tracks, and left.
