Arunachal: Three Held For Allegedly Raping, Molesting School Children

ITANAGAR: Three persons have been arrested at Papum Pare district of Arunachal Pradesh on charges of rape and molestation of school students of a government school.

As per available reports, the arrests were made following a complaint filed by some students accusing the trio of sexually abusing them at the Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) in Kimin.

Moreover, the case took a more serious turn when written information from the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights was also sent to the police.

On Friday, the statements of the victims were recorded by the police. According to one of the victims, one Tadh Nunu had allegedly 'raped the victim repeatedly by putting her in fear.'

It was also revealed that another person, identified as Sahil Khan, also molested and tried to rape the victim.

Meanwhile, it was also reported that a teacher of the school, identified as Tanmay Tripathi, also molested them on many an occasion.

The trio was arrested following a manhunt. A case under relevant sections has also been registered against them.

Another such rape case of a minor girl occurred on July 15, in Hailakandi district of Assam, when she went to collect vegetables from a hilly area in her village. Moreover, as per available information, the alleged incident took place in a village under the Ramnathpur police station, under the Katlicherra assembly constituency near the Assam-Mizoram inter-state border. The police later launched a manhunt to nab two men accused of raping the minor girl from the Reang community in southern Assam's Hailakandi district.
