At The Age Of 87 Former Haryana CM OP Chautala Clears10th And 12th Exams

Om Prakash Chautala scored an impressive 88 out of 100 on the English test in his Class 10 exams which was held last year.

Chandigarh: It is often said that education has no age limits and it is a never-ending process with no expiry date.

This happened to be the case with former Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala who cleared his Class 10th and 12th at the age of 87.

Officials from the Haryana Education Board presented him with his mark sheets in Chandigarh on May 11. Chautala scored an impressive 88 out of 100 on the English test in his Class 10 exams which were held last year.

The former Haryana CM had appeared for his Class 12 examinations under the Haryana Open Board in 2021. However, his results were delayed on August 5 as he had yet to complete his Class 10 English exam. As a result, he gave his Class 10 test to get released his Class 12 results.

"I am a student – no comments," Former CM OP Chautala informed the reporters upon arrival at the examination centre. He refrained from responding to any inquiries on politics. Thereafter, Chautala went back to writing his paper.

Born on 1 January 1935, Om Prakash Chautala is a former Chief Minister of Haryana from the Indian National Lok Dal and son of 6th Deputy Prime Minister Chaudhary Devi Lal.

He is the son of a son of Chaudhari Devi Lal, a former Deputy Prime Minister of India. He was married to Sneh Lata, who died in August 2019. He has two sons, Ajay Singh Chautala and Abhay Singh Chautala, and three daughters.

He was the Chief Minister of Haryana from 2 December 1989 to 22 May 1990, thereafter from 12 July 1990 to 17 July 1990, again from 22 March 1991 to 6 April 1991 and, finally, from 24 July 1999 to 5 March 2005. Politically, he had been part of NDA and Third Front (non-NDA & non-Cong front) at the national level.
