New Delhi: The judgment in the 28-year-old case Babri Masjid demolition case is scheduled to be pronounced on September 30 by a special court that is hearing the case. Among the list of 32 denounced requested to be present in court are BJP veterans LK Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi. Former Rajasthan Governor Kalyan Singh and senior party leader Una Bharti are on the list too.

Mr Advani, Mr Joshi and Ms Bharati - main leaders of the BJP at that point -- are accused of a conspiracy that prompted the demolition of the fifteenth Century mosque in December 1992. It was said that the masjid was built after pulling down a historic temple that denoted the birth place of Lord Shree Ram and in November a year ago, the Supreme Court conveyed a landmark verdict in the title suit of the Ram Janambhoomi case, ordering the construction of a shrine at the site.

Mr Advani had recorded his statement in the case before the CBI court via video conference on July 24. Mr Joshi too recorded his statement a day before Mr Advani and both have denied all charges against them.

Uma Bhati said in July that "it doesn't matter" to her what the judgment for the case will be.

She also mentioned that "If I am sent to the gallows, I will be blessed. The place where I was born will be happy"

Senior BJP leader Kalyan Singh was the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh at the time of the mahjid demolition. His legislature was dismissed as riots broke out the nation over in which around 3,000 people died.

The decision for the case will come at the fag end of the time limit given by the Supreme Court to the special court hearing the case.

In April 2017, the top court had requested that the special court conduct everyday hearings and complete the trial inside two years. It was given a few extensions from there after and when the special judge SK Yadav requested for more time, the court extended the time limit to September 30.

The symbolic construction of the temple began recently, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi participating in the momentous ceremony in Ayodhya.
