Bihar: The process of the Bihar Panchayat Election has been completed and amid tight security votes has been started counting from yesterday.

An overall 60.79% voter turnout was recorded in the fifth phase of the ongoing panchayat polls in 845 panchayats under 58 blocks in 38 districts on Sunday. A few sporadic incidents of clashes, stone pelting and firing were reported from a few panchayats.

For the first time, Matiur Rahman won the post of head from Gachapara Panchayat of Kishanganj.Ashok Kumar Hasda declared victorious from Purnea Zilla Parishad area number 8.In Amaiya Panchayat of Asarganj, Munger, Hasiya Devi defeated Rekha Devi, while Babi Devi won from Chorgaon Panchayat. Guria Devi became the head from Rajipur in Patna.
