Bihar Turns 110-Year-Old After Being Separated From Bengal In 1912

Patna: Bihar which is a special state located in the eastern part of India has turned 110-Years-Old on March 22, 2022.

In 1912, Bihar came into existence as an independent state after the British separated it from the Bengal province. In the same year, Odisha too was recognized as a separate state.

Every year on March 22, Bihar Diwas is celebrated and this year, the people of Bihar are celebrating the 110th anniversary of the state. On this occasion, there is a public holiday. Various programs are being organized in the state on the occasion of the Bihar Diwas.

A function based on the theme 'Jal Jiwan Hariyali' has been organized in all the districts of the state.

History of Bihar

During the time of Chandragupta, the expansion of Bharatvarsha was up to present-day Afghanistan. At that time the capital of India was Pataliputra, whose territory lies in present-day Patna and its surrounding areas. During the British era, Bihar was placed under the Bengal Presidency. After a long battle, Bihar got recognition as a separate province.

Bihar is a special state located in the eastern part of India, which is a big center of India from a historical point of view. This state got its name 'Bihar' because people believe in Buddhism live here and also the Mahabodhi Temple is located in Bihar itself.

When people in many states of the country did not even know how to read and write, at that time Bihar was the biggest center of education. Ashoka, Ajatashatru, Bimbisara, and other great kings were born in Bihar. Apart from them, India's first President Dr. Rajendra Prasad was also born in Bihar.

PM And President Congratulated

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today (Tuesday), on March 22, greeted the people of the state on the occasion of Bihar Diwas. PM Modi wished that Bihar should continue to set new records of development.

''Hearty congratulations to all the brothers and sisters of Bihar on Bihar Diwas. I wish that this state, rich in historical and cultural heritage, continues to set new records of development,'' PM Tweeted.

"As the Governor of Bihar, I have received immense affection from the people here. My best wishes on this special occasion," President Ram Nath Kovind tweeted.
