KOLKATA: JP president JP Nadda will hold a protest against the alleged violence on its party workers in the state by the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC).
According to reports, JP president JP Nadda will be on a two-day visit to West Bengal and will meet the BJP workers and their families affected by the violence, and will hold protests in a democratic manner.
"BJP National President Shri @JPNadda ji will be visiting West Bengal on 4-5 May, in view of the widespread post results, retributive violence unleashed on BJP workers & supporters by criminal elements in the TMC cadre.
He will be visiting families of the affected karyakartas," said the official Twitter handle of BJP.
Meanwhile, the party will also hold a nationwide dharna on May 5 against the widespread violence unleashed by TMC workers post declaration of the West Bengal Assembly Elections results.
Speaking to the media, BJP leader Parvesh Singh said, "I want to tell Mamata Banerjee to stop this violence in West Bengal. How would TMC leaders feel if they are treated similarly when they go to UP, Bihar? I want to tell TMC MLAs & MPs to stay within their limits,"- on political violence following poll results.
Further, the national party alleged that the BJP office and some shops in Ghoshpara road of Bhatpara were allegedly vandalized by miscreants and at least 13 crude bombs were hurled in the area.
Notably, Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress won 213 seats in the just concluded West Bengal assembly elections. The Bharatiya Janata Party garnered 77 seats in the 294-seat state assembly.
